GERM282

World War II: The German Perspective
GERM282 SP

Crosslistings: GELT282, COL 264

Next Offered in 9899 SP

World War II raises many moral and political issues which still affect us all today. In order to find out how World War II looked to Germans and what they perceive to have been the central moral and political issues of that war, we will use exclusively materials written by Germans, most of them written after the events they deal with. Three different types of readings are designed to give us a better access to some key questions: historical writings, political analyses and literary texts will constitute our source material.

H. J. Fest, HITLER
S. Haffner, THE MEANING OF HITLER
