Composition and Conversation

This course introduces you to various aspects of modern
French life through a wide range of materials and methods;
videos and readings on various cultural topics, oral
reports, weekly discussions with French exchange students,
laboratory practice, and compositions. It continues to
develop your language skills (listening, speaking, reading,
and writing), preparing you for upper-level French courses
and a year or semester in France on the Wesleyan Program in
Paris.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Weekly composition, bi-weekly
dictee, two hour-exams, final exam.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This course is
intended for students who have completed FREN116 with a
grade of B or better or have placed into FREN215 through
the placement test this fall. Students who have not done so
should consult with the professor before preregistering.
Students are required to attend one T.A. session a week (one
hour).
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
