Literature of the Renaissance from Wyatt to Donne, including
Marlowe, Shakespeare, Spenser and the Sonneteers. We shall
study the emergence of modern subjectivity in tragedy and
persona, the deconsecration of kingship in history and
tragedy, the patriarchal construction of sexuality in
domestic tragedy, and class struggle in citizen comedy.
