Literary Nonfiction
ENGL169 SP

Looking at various literary journalists and personal
essayists, we will explore the different fictional
techniques employed in nonfiction. Weekly short exercises
will be assigned for further exploration of these
techniques. In addition, students will be expected to
submit two 8-10 page essays for class discussion, and a
substantial revision of one essay as a final project.

Writing sample: can
be either fiction or nonfiction (double-spaced). Include a
separate page stating: Name, class, major, and courses taken
at Wesleyan -- reasons why you would like to take the class.
Submission deadline: Jan. 8, 4:00 p.m. Can drop off
submission at English office or send to Sheila Kelleher at
285 Court St.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
