Practice in various forms of nonfiction, including interviews, profiles, personal essays, and critical analysis.

MAJOR READINGS

Contemporary nonfiction, including pieces by
George Orwell, Joan Didion, Studs Terkel, Maxine Hong
Kingston, Vivian Gornick, Tim O'Brien, and Annie
Dillard.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Weekly writing exercises.

To apply for admission to the course, fill out the application form available at Anne Greene's office, 279 Court Street, room 203. Attendance at every class required. One lecture/discussion class and one section meeting each week. Students admitted must attend the first class in order to hold their place.
