Sedimentology
E&ES230 FA

Next Offered in 9798 FA

Sedimentology is an interdisciplinary subject, involving many aspects of geology as well as chemistry, physics and mathematics. This course will cover the basic tools of sedimentologic interpretation; the origin and types of sedimentary grains, their transport mechanisms and the formation of sedimentary structures. With this knowledge, we will use these interpretive tools to determine the processes that occur in different depositional environments and to see how the resultant sedimentary deposits record changes in the Earth's history.
