Introductory Oceanography

Study of the marine environment and world ocean that covers most of our planet. Oceanography is multidisciplinary; topics include physical, chemical, geological and biological processes acting in the world ocean. Stress will be placed on understanding how interactions between these four types of processes control the dynamics of the marine environment.

Three 1 1/2 hour exams, each covering 1/3 of the course.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Students should possess secondary school proficiency in biology, chemistry and physics. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
