Advanced modern dance technique. From a foundation of basic
movement principles applicable to all movement techniques
and styles, this course will focus on the performance of
complex dance movement sequences, emphasizing rhythmic
accuracy, continuity, technical mastery, and performance
quality. Friday's class taught by different visiting
artists.
MAJOR READINGS
Selected articles.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Attendance at dance concerts,
group meetings, several short papers on readings, journal,
performance project and/or performance exam.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Placement on this
technical level required by recommendation of dance
technique teacher the previous semester or evaluation during
first class.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
