This is an intermediate-level course. Strong emphasis on correct alignment and the development of dynamics and stylistic qualities will be prominent while students learn combinations. Selected readings will be required.

Selected articles on ballet technique and
history.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Short papers on selected topics and films.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Previous dance training required. Placement on the Ballet II level required by recommendation of ballet technique teacher the previous semester or attendance at first class. May be repeated for credit. Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the Registrar's Office.
