An introduction to the principles and concepts of contemporary biochemistry, presenting both the biological and chemical perspectives. The major themes will be the structure of proteins and the basis of enzymatic activity; cellular metabolism and the generation and storage of metabolic energy; general principles of the biosynthesis of cellular components.
