Advanced Organic Chemistry

This course will cover topics of current interest in
bioorganic chemistry and will survey the way in which
organic chemistry is used to investigate and manipulate
biological systems either for a biological or chemical
purpose. Specific topics will depend on class interest, but
may include protein design, RNA structure determination,
peptide-nucleic acid interactions, combinatorial systhesis,
molecular recognition, catalytic antibodies, and antisense
technologies.
MAJOR READINGS
Current literature.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
One short paper; one short
presentation.

This half-credit
course will meet one day a week for the whole semeser.
