Ethnobotany
BIOL370 SP

A seminar course designed to apply biological principles to
issues relating to human use of plants. Topics will
include the development of food plants from wild
progenitors, evlutionary origin of medicinal compounds,
plants of key importance to humans such as grasses and
palms.

Charles Heiser, SEED TO CIVILIZATION
Selected readings in current books and scientific journals.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Oral presentation and paper.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
This is a 6-week
course that will meet for the first half of the semester
only. Can be taken concurrently with BIOL349.
Unless preregistered students attend the first class meeting
or communicate directly with the instructor prior to the
first class, they will be dropped from the class list.
NOTE: Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form
to the Registrar's Office.
