Eukaryotic Genetics

This course will examine techniques and tools of eukaryotic
genetics, including mutant screens, transposable elements,
somatic mosaics, and germ-line transformation, particularly
as applied to developmental biology. The primary model
organism will be Drosophila, though examples of other
systems will also be included.
MAJOR READINGS
A course reader of original research
papers.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Problem sets and paper
summaries; one library research paper.

Unless
preregistered students attend the first class meeting or
communicate directly with the instructor prior to the first
class, they will be dropped from the class list. NOTE:
Students must still submit a completed Drop/Add form to the
Registrar's Office.
