Biology 190 is a course for freshmen which focuses on themes of human concern and practical relevance. It is designed specifically as an alternative to Biol205 for students who can benefit from additional preparation before enrolling in the relatively demanding Core Introductory Series (Biol205, 206, 207 and associated laboratories Biol215, 216 and 217). The course has no required laboratory. The course is especially suitable for prospective majors who intend to enroll in the core series in their sophomore year, as well as for general students seeking a solid introductory course which emphasizes current concepts in cell and molecular biology. (FYI course) MAJOR readings: To be announced.
