Traditions of East Asian Painting

A study of several of the primary traditions of East Asian
painting, including Chinese landscape painting and Japanese
works in the YAMATO-E style and the monochromatic ink
painting associated with Zen Buddhism. The art will be
discussed in terms of its historical and philosophical, as
well as its aesthetic, significance.
