This course is designed to encourage students to critically engage contemporary (primarily American) theater. Apart from analyzing various playwrights, we will also investigate the political significance and meaning of ethnic theater. This class further seeks to confront students with the practical challenges associated with directing and producing. The readings, discussions, and assignments intend to address all these objectives.
