Scenic Design for the Theater
THEA 359 FA
In this course we will explore, construct and deconstruct Set design for Performance through hands on projects and, if possible actual production. We will focus in each step of the creative process: Concept development,
Visual research, Renderings or Drawing, Model making and drafting together with the study of history of stage design and their contemporary schools of Art and/or Architecture.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
There will be a number of five projects and one final exam project due during the course.

This course is intended for those with theater interest and aims at guiding the students through the main areas of Scenic Design, from ideas to workshop drawings, from past to contemporary concepts and from developing a
vision to working in a team.
