Several systems of viewing human personality, its development and consequent mental health issues exist in psychology. Some theories focus on factors inside the person, the person¿s belief and cognition about the self
and
the world, some systems focus on external environmental factors. This course recognizes the usefulness of both perspectives but will focus on what an individual can make of life from within unique, developmental,
experience,
as contained in psychoanalytic theories and research.
The focus will be on broad and specific concepts of psychoanalytic theory as is used in practice, how one extracts one-s meaningful self-explanations from
personal
