This course covers various quantitative research methods in psychology. Individual sections emphasize different methods and content areas as described below.

Journal articles and book chapters.
Examinations and Assignments
One exam, one class research project, one short paper, one journal-style paper.
Additional Requirements and/or Comments
This section will examine various experimental research methods with a special focus on biological psychology. Students will learn the critical steps of the research method, including formulation and testing of hypotheses, study design, data collection and analysis, and interpretation and reporting of results. Concepts of methodology and design will be applied to a broad spectrum of research areas, including experimentation in animals, and basic physiological and clinical research in humans. This section will be taught mainly in a lecture/discussion format.

This section will examine various experimental research methods. Students will learn the critical steps of the research method, including formulation and testing of hypotheses, study design, data collection and statistical analysis using SPSS software, and interpretation and reporting of results. Concepts of methodology and design will be applied to a broad spectrum of research areas, including experimentation in animals, and basic physiological and clinical research in humans. This section wi ll be taught mainly in a lecture/discussion format.
