Psychological Statistics
PSYC 201 FA
This course provides a general introduction to the use of statistics in everyday life and in psychological research. Special emphasis will be placed upon the development of critical thinking skills for evaluating the
validity
of statistically-based claims found in the media and in published research. In addition, the course will focus on the practical application of statistics and the logical connection between various analytic techniques.
Both
descriptive and inferential statistics will be discussed and students will learn to clean and analyze data using Microsoft Excel and SPSS.
