This course may be repeated for credit.
This course is an intensive study of large-ensemble repertoire composed by Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Thad Jones, Fletcher Henderson and others. A year-long commitment to rehearsal of the compositions as well as listening and reading assignments will culminate in a second-semester public concert.
