Introduction to Folk Music Studies
MUSC 122 FA
The course moves out from accepted ideas of "folk music" as a contemporary genre to its roots and offshoots, including materials from Anglo-American, European, and Afghan sources, among others. Live, recorded, and filmed
versions will be included, with work ranging from creative writing through mini-research projects and a final paper.
