Homeric Epic
GRK 275 SP

This is a Greek reading course in one or both of the Homeric epics, THE ILLIAD and THE ODYSSEY. Close reading of selections of Homer will inform in-class idscussion of key literary questions.

MAJOR READINGS

Selections from Homer, ILIAD and/or ODYSSEY in Greek. Full ILIAD and/or ODYSSEY in English.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

One or two short papers, midterm and final exams.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

To enroll in this course, students should have completed at least one Wesleyan Intermediate Greek course (GRK201 or 202) or the equivalent.
