A World of Heroes
GRK 201 FA
This course will introduce students to original Greek texts in prose and poetry, with excerpts from several major authors: Aristophanes (Frogs); Homer (Iliad); Aeschylus (Persians), Herodotus (Persian Wars); Thucydides
(Peloponnesian
War), Xenophon (Oikonomikos) and possibly others. The course will include a review of grammar and syntax.

Regular assignments in Greek for each class. One exam on each author. Final take-home exam.

Students should have had one year of college Greek or the equivalent. Regular class attendance.
