The English Essay
ENGL 130 SP
This course will focus on the writing of nonfiction and the forms of the English essay. Readings will be drawn from a range of genres, both nonfiction and fiction, including memoirs and profiles, historical and
contemporary
commentary, short stories and novels.

Rushdie: HAROUN AND THE SEA OF STORIES

Writing assignments weekly.

primary fluency is in languages other
than English or who are fluent in more than one language; it is open to anyone interested in a course with a cross-cultural focus.
