Responsive Writing
ENGL 103 FA
This is a writing course for students interested in reading and thinking. It offers practice in the writing of non-fiction prose forms such as arguments, journals, fables, letters, interviews, in response to a variety of
readings.
MAJOR READINGS
Non-fiction prose by various writers including some of the following: James Baldwin, Annie Dillard, Ann Fadiman, Tracy Kidder, Anna Deavere Smith, Arthur Zajonc.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
In addition to writing frequent papers, students will keep a writer's journal to be collected periodically for evaluation and comments.
