Introduction to Oceanography
E&ES 106 FA

Oceans cover more than70 percent of the earth's surface. They have figured prominently in mythology, food and trade. Today we know that the oceans are also vital to our weather and climate, as well as being an important natural resource. In this class you will explore the principles of ocean science and see how other areas of natural science (geology, chemistry, physics and biology) are used to understand the ocean.

Students should possess secondary school proficiency in biology, chemistry and physics. Students are required to participate in one day-long field trip on either a Saturday or Sunday.
