This course may be repeated for credit.

This is an intermediate-level course. Strong emphasis on correct alignment and the development of dynamics and stylistic qualities will be prominent while students learn combinations. Selected readings will be required.

MAJOR READINGS

Selected articles on ballet technique and history.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Short papers on selected topics and films.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Previous dance training required. Placement on the Ballet II level required by recommendation of ballet technique teacher the previous semester or evaluation in first class. May be repeated for credit. Please contact Professor Patricia Beaman for permission into this course.
