Computer Science I
COMP 211 SP
This is the first course in a two-course sequence (COMP 211-212) that is the gateway to the Computer Science major. It provides an introduction to the fundamental ideas of object-oriented programming in particular and
Computer
Science in general. Part of the course will focus on an intensive study of one particular programming language, and the remainder on associated mathematical concepts and formalisms.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
One midterm exam, one final exam, and a number of quizzes and programming assignments.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Some previous acquaintance with computer programming is highly recommended. In addition, some degree of mathematical maturity will be expected. Most students will be concurrently enrolled in a Calculus course.
