Marriage and Death in Ancient Greece
CCIV 224 SP

Crosslistings:
WMST 225

In this course we study ancient Greek funerary and wedding ritual and the equivalence between them that is developed in literature and art: in literature, the parallel is especially marked in Greek tragedy; in art, it is notable that the same kinds of ritual vases were used in both death and marriage rituals.
