Psychology of Decision Making
PSYC 322 FA

Clusters:

Linguistics

This seminar will focus on the psychology of decision making. We make decisions all of the time in our personal and professional lives, from selecting what to eat for breakfast, to deciding who to vote in for president, to determining a career path, to choosing a romantic partner. The aims of this course are twofold. First, we will use the tools of cognitive and social psychology to develop an understanding of how people actually solve decision problems. Second, we will develop an understanding of how people might be able to improve their decision making skills. In the process, we will think about decision making in a variety of domains, including business, medicine, and the law.
