Neural Mechanisms of Movement

All significant brain function eventuates in movement. This course will treat the primary literature in the neural control of movement by the brain. The topics include basic neurophysiology of motor systems, neural organization, locomotion, motivated behavior patterns, hand control, eye movements, attention, integration of sensory and motor information, learning, cortical networks, and applications to motor disorders.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

There will be two in-class tests and a paper on a topic on motor control.

Psychology majors must take this course graded A-F. This is a column 1 Breadth Requirement course.
