Molecular Biology of Plant Development
MB&B 396 SP

This is an advanced course designed for MB&B and Biology majors and will cover current topics in plant development. The study of development of higher plants, in particular maize and Arabidopsis, has been booming in recent years. Some topics we will discuss include the ABC model of floral development, the evolution of C4 photosynthesis, and leaf vein development along with analysis of the techniques and approaches used to study plants. The class will be part lecture and part discussion based on both a current text and original scientific papers.
