This seminar in Latin American social history analyzes the interaction of caste, class, gender, and race. This seminar emphasizes the colonial period of Latin American history. Key issues to be considered included the double colonization of indigenous women, the impact of slavery, the transformation of indigenous communities, the emergence of new social groups and identities.
