Women's and Gender History in Africa
HIST 290 SP
This course examines the writing of women's, feminist, and gender history in Africa. We will look at the extent to which European and American theoretical frameworks have informed Africanist scholarship. Case studies
will
provide content on African history. Students will understand the different implications of writing the history of women versus the use of gender as an analytical tool.
