Comparative Politics of Western Europe
GOVT 284 FA

This course explores the institutions and contemporary politics of the major West European states, including Great Britain, France, Germany and Italy. We will focus on the unique political development of each country as we address broader thematic issues: regionalism and devolution; nationalism and the radical right; the welfare state; and migration. The course also examines the most significant transformation in Western Europe since the end of WWII: the creation European Union.
