History of World Cinema to the Second World War
FILM 304 FA
This class will cover prehistory, D. W. Griffith, the classic cinemas of Russia, Germany, France and Hollywood as well as the documentary and experimental traditions. It is designed to be a class for those wishing to
declare
the film major as well as a general education class. This course is one of several that may be used to gain entry into further work in film studies. (A mark of B+ or better in any course used to enter the film major is
required.)
