Staging Race in Early Modern England
ENGL 320 SP

This course aims to historicize interrelated conceptions of race, complexion, the humoral body, gender and sexuality, and their relation to religious, ethnic and cultural identity as they are staged in early modern English drama.

Assignments include an annotated bibliography, oral presentation and a final research project utilizing Olin Library's Special Collections.

This course meets the English Department's pre-1800 requirement, and also carries a research option.
