Literary Non-Fiction Writing
ENGL 154 SP

The personal essay uses the techniques of novelists, poets, journalists, critics and historians, to create narrative writing that absorbs what it needs of these other disciplines. This class introduces the essay's tools, history and possibilities through workshop, readings and writing exercises.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Submit a short writing sample (3-5 pages of impressions from a trip) to Sheila Kelleher at the English Department, 285 Court Street, Middletown, CT 06459-0100 no later than noon, on January 15, 2003.

This is a drop/add course. Class lists will be posted by the first day of this class, January 23rd.
