The English Essay
ENGL 130 SP

This course will focus on the writing of nonfiction and the forms of the English essay. Readings will be drawn from a range of genres, both nonfiction and fiction, including memoirs and profiles, historical and contemporary commentary, short stories and novels.

Rushdie: HAROUN AND THE SEA OF STORIES

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Writing assignments weekly.

To apply for admission, complete the application form available at 279 Court St., Room 102, or Butterfield B310. Deadline to apply: Monday, January 17. This course gives preference to students whose primary fluency is in languages other than English or who are fluent in more than one language.
