Monetary Economics and Financial Markets
ECON 242 SP
This course investigates classic and modern issues in the theory and practice of monetized economies. Particular focus is given to the design and implementation of monetary policy, from both theoretical and empirical
perspectives
and in both closed- and open-economy setups. Considerable attention is paid to the interplay between the conduct of monetary policy and the behavior of financial markets. Specific topics to be covered may vary with
student
interest.
