Ballet I
DANC 202 SP

This course may be repeated for credit.

This is a basic elementary-level ballet class. Ballet terminology and stylistic concepts will be introduced with a strong emphasis on correct alignment. Selected readings required.

MAJOR READINGS

Selected articles on ballet history and theory.

EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Short papers on selected topics and films.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS

Some previous dance training required. May be repeated for credit. Prior dance experience in Intro, Modern, Jazz or the equivalent is necessary for Ballet I. Permission into this course must be requested - speak with Professor Beaman in Dance Department on Tuesdays/Thursdays.
