Ballet I

This course may be repeated for credit.
This is a basic elementary-level ballet class. Ballet terminology and stylistic concepts will be introduced with a strong emphasis on correct alignment. Selected readings required.
MAJOR READINGS
Selected articles on ballet history and theory.
EXAMINATIONS AND ASSIGNMENTS
Short papers on selected topics and films.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS and/or COMMENTS
Some previous dance training required. May be repeated for credit. Speak with Professor Beaman for permission into this course. She is available only Tuesdays/Thursdays. Prior dance experience in Intro, modern, jazz
or the equivalent is necessary for
Ballet I.
