Scenic Design for the Theater
THEA 359 FA

This course will explore, through projects and, if possible, an actual production, the concepts, materials and procedure dealing with the design of settings for the theater. The intent of the course is to suggest a lively stimulus in dealing with the art of the possible in the design of productions. Designs will be presented through models and technical drawings.

There will be a number of five projects and one final exam project due during the course.

This course is intended for those with theater interest and aims at guiding the students through the main areas of Scenic Design, from ideas to workshop drawings, from past to contemporary concepts and from developing a vision to working in a team.
