Contemporary as distinct from modern and classical Christian thought deals with both in its own project. The main part of this discussion course explores and examines select recent 20th-century Christian theologies from around the world divided into liberationist, feminist, orthodox, evangelical, liberal and post-liberal currents. A range of beliefs in God, the world and humanity will be pursued on the basis of select theological texts. The second part of the course will focus on a few Christian thinkers in the fields of philosophy and/or history.
