Phenomenology is the study of our embeddedness in the world and an attempt to understand that seamless engagement, while reflecting upon it. Cultural phenomenology asks us to see the frames that define our everyday being and by analyzing these "givens" to come to a better understanding of how our participation is essential to the continuous expression of the archetypes of the social: gender, race, and class.
