Understanding Psychopathology
PSYC 251 SP
This course provides a survey of the major contemporary schools of psychopathology (biological, psychoanalytic, interpersonal, social, behavioral-cognitive). It familiarizes students with the current classification
system
(DSM IV) for psychiatric disorders. It will include a survey of some major psychiatric disorders and their causes and consequences. It will introduce students to basic approaches to assessment and treatment of
individuals
with psychopathology.
