Quantitative Methods in Psychology

This course covers various quantitative research methods in psychology. Individual sections emphasize different methods and content areas as described below.

Prerequisites: (PSYC101 AND PSYC201) OR (PSYC105 AND PSYC201)

SECTION 01

This section covers experimental methods used in psychology with an emphasis on cognitive psychology. Students learn to define hypotheses, design and conduct studies, appropriately analyze and interpret data, and present results in technical reports. Students also learn to evaluate and critique reported research in the media. The class requires working closely with other students using specialized software, so regular class attendance and participation in essential.

Numerous research reports, two exams, and a final original experiment.
