Introduction to Childhood Psychopathology
PSYC 172 SP

This course provides an overview of abnormal child development including attention deficit disorder, conduct disorder, autism, mental retardation, anxiety, and depression. A developmental psychopathology and transactional framework are used, emphasizing the role of psychological, biological, family, and sociocultural factors in the development of childhood psychopathology. Recent research in the areas of assessment and diagnosis, prevention, and treatment will be presented.
