Nature and Basis of Human Diseases

The first half of this course shall cover the molecular, genetic, cellular and biochemical aspects of selected human ailments. Topics will include diabetes, obesity and Alzheimer's Disease. The second half examines the mechanisms underlying the pathogenicity of bacterial and viral diseases including AIDS, tuberculosis, enteric pathogens and bioterrorism.
